MNK Re Limited & CoreFleetInnovations (Insurtech) / Fullstack Web Developer

I started working at the insurtech company MNK Re in July of 2022, I was initially hired as the sole developer. My development responsibilities were comprehensive and included the management of Software Development, and additionally, IT support for branches of MNK Re, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe After Effects for the purposes of creating marketing material.

While working for a subsidiary of MNK Re, CoreFleetInnovations, I facilitated our side of technical communication for API integrations with 20 senior developers from multiple well-known brands - leading the development of the subsidiary’s startup PoC. This project involved extensive research, for the bi-directional transit of data between multiple parties via micro-services, integrations, recommendations on architecture and robust development. I decided upon the tech stack and set up the company’s GitHub organization, and AWS architecture, provisioned EC2, RDS, and S3 along with a chrooted Linux-based SFTP server. This project involved development in Laravel, automation scripts in Python and PHP deployment. I also developed an onboarding platform with a rich feature set in my own time.

In addition, I designed, managed and configured WordPress installs on AWS for the websites MNK Re and CorefleetInnovations and Specialty MGA UK; the last of which was customized after many revisions using a WordPress child theme.

After a productive time at MNK Re, I decided to resign to work on my own freelance projects.

Cambridge Quantum Computing / Full Stack Web Developer

During my time at CQCL I developed many applications including IronBridge Messenger, an application using Post Quantum Algorithms for communication between two parties. This required me to learn about Cryptography; including Key Encapsulation, Message Signing and Encryption.

I also worked on a few other projects requiring me to create my own API written in C++ using boost/beast, a C++ development library, and prior working on an inhouse API requiring me to code using C#.

My role also included managing day-to-day operations of servers hosted via AWS and Azure for two separate clients, and building a C# UI using WPF.

Evident Software / Front-End Web Developer

Mar 2019 – Dec 2019

During 2019 I worked at Evident Software based in Croydon. Over that period my role expanded to building database models and designing a restful API for mobile developers to utilise. I encountered many interesting projects based around responsive web design and built projects ranging from graphing applications to a job routing application; to aid in Asset Tracking.
